Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN) monocrystalline has the most thermal stability, its hardness is just second to diamond. The synthetic CBN crystal is converted from hBN under extremely high pressure (6 G Pa -7 G Pa) and temperature (1400 ℃ ~1500℃). CBN will not react with iron and nickel (steel and super alloy).
Application
The combination of thermal and chemical stability and hardness make CBN to be widely applied in automotive and aerospace industries, tool and cutter grinding, gear and bearings machining etc
Products Available
SCBN1 Black semi-tough, semi-blocky monocrystal extensively used in vitreous bond grinding wheel systems and electroplated tools. Optimum balance of fracture strength and breakdown characteristics to enhance wheel life, surface finish and dressing interval. Its strength thermal stability and sharpness make it suitable to for most vitrified and resin bond applications.
SCBN110 Black, medium fracture strength, high thermal stability and sharp, angular crystal shapes provide increased performance and grinding efficiency in automotive and other production grinding applications. it is ideal for resin and vitreous bond application.
SCBN120 Black, very high toughness and thermal stability, regular shape, monocrystal provide ideal for high temperature bond system. The crystal provides tool life, unparalleled removal rates and high surface integrity in heavy duty grinding applications. It exhibits optimum performance of grinding or honing super alloy applications in vitrified, metal and electroplated bond systems.
SCBN230 Amber, monocrystal, the fracture strength of this extremely tough product is the highest of any CBN product. Its blocky shape, surface texture and consistent toughness, regardless of mesh size, make it ideal for demanding high removal rate applications while providing good surface finish. Widely used in metal and vitreous vacuum braze bond systems for honing as well as grinding.
